idk what it is but ai models have kinda lost their spark over the last few months (insane sentence i know). gpt5 was meant to bring in a new era for llms but so far has fallen on its face to the extent people want the older models.

anthropic is making version1.00000001 updates to their coding model, model updates slowing down, meta is starting from scratch with new lab…

think we probably see a period of consolidation. fewer new models and more consumer / enterprise apps.

tbh im excited by this. I’m ready to see what this tech can do in practice beyond chatbots and coding. video and image gen has the head start here, world simulators are super cool and will start to appear in gaming, companions are getting addictive but the rest (social, financial, leisure, work) are non-existent.
