Jensen Huang of Nvidia is preparing for a trip to Beijing to launch a new AI chip produced 'specifically' for China.
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, will arrive in Beijing next week to unveil the modified version of the Blackwell RTX Pro 6000 chip, expected to launch in September. This chip has been developed to comply with the new export restrictions of President America Donald Trump, removing features such as high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and NVLink.
During the visit, Huang is expected to meet with Prime Minister Li Keqiang and Vice Premier He Lifeng. This trip reflects rising geopolitical pressures, as Huang has criticized Trump's export restrictions as a "failure" and believes they only boost China's domestic AI technology development efforts. Although Nvidia's market share in China has decreased from 95% to 50%, the company still sees this as a potential market worth $50 billion.
